Assassin's Creed Unveils Unexpected AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a surprising crossover event that breaks conventional forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering free additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Questline Revealed
According to the official announcement, "A mysterious confrontation draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where rumors of forbidden ceremonies and fearsome changes reverberate through the darkness." The plot introduces a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who charges the pair with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret cult.
The mission centers on "bizarre tests and a fearsome enemy" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Metamorphoses
The teaser showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser finishes with a powerful scene showing a character, likely the hostage, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Additional Content
Players who finish the adventure will acquire an exclusive katana together with several items hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Exclusive arms
- Survey Corps mount
Newest Free Story Addition
This patch also introduces the game's latest complimentary story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive abilities: Naoe reveals a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also features a original environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
